This May Day bank holiday the club had a very successful open day, many members attended with their family who were interested to see exactly what we get up to every Monday.  This year the emphasis was on the incredible skill of our scale modelers and a number of their ships were on display.

Despite the disappointing weather visitors were able to enjoy bacon sandwiches , teas and - a first anywhere in the universe - cooling tower biscuits.  There were trips around the lakes  organized by the Sailing Clubs members. Also many enjoyed the miniature construction site with r/c diggers and trucks. Progress seemed to outstrip the HS2 work going on nearby.

A selection of the many photographs taken is shown below.

The prize for the best scale mode was awarded to John for his destroyer a superbly detailed model.

Many models were to be seen sailing on the lake.
