Scoring System -2026

This is a revised version of the scoring sytem, this will be completed as the season progresses.


The following illustrates the simple scoring system that is used to rate sailors.

  1.  The number of heats for a class of yacht and/or club trophy are approved at the AGM (usually held in January) for that particular year’s competition(s).
  2. The ARM or appointed result recorder for the race shall record the heat position place as a  number. (First position is recorded as “1” and second position as “2” etc.,)
  3. In the event that two yachts cannot be distinguished crossing the line, they can be recorded as equal. If, say, for third place then each recorded as 3=, next being “5”.
  4. Only yachts completing a race are recorded as having a position.
  5. The results are notified to the club secretary.
  6. The webmaster maintains a list of results to date on the web site at
    rugeleymodelclub.org.uk
  7. Only yachts completing at least one race will appear in the day's results.
