Sailing Report Open Sailing 22/09/2025

A very enjoyable few races, from “up the hill” where the big boys race. Feeling a little guilty as the working party laboured away on the flood wall.

Extra Victoria/DF65 race day 13th October

To complete the competition calendar for 2025 it has been decided to hold an extra race day for Victoria’s and DF65’s on the 13th October. It is hoped that as many boats as possible will take part, even those who have not participated in the competition this year so far. Lets make it a celebration of our smaller boats.

News from the north

This makes sailing dinghies with centreboards between the lakes impossible, in the increasingly shallow conditions. The dredging contractors have arrived today with 3 articulated lorries carrying an enormous pontoon with a big excavator to go on top. This week they will ensure that the silt is removed that has been deposited by the River Trent, preventing access to Saddlesall Lake only. On Monday all the silt spoil will be taken off […]

Post from Colin 23/3/2025

The Rugeley Model Boat Club invites members, friends and family along with other members of Manor Park Sailing Club to join them, celebrating 40 years of sailing at Manor Park at 11.00 on Monday 5th May 2025.  Everyone can have a go at radio sailing a Df95 from the Clubhouse patio. Alternatively visitors can try navigating a nautical scale model from the shore, in the corner of the lake away from the wind and waves, weather permitting. Since the six Rugeley Model Boat Club refugees left the redundant Rugeley Power Station and came to Manor Park, the members numbers have […]
