Sailing Report 4th Victoria /DF65 competition day 22/6/2026

A smaller turnout for todays Victoria racing. However four races were achieved before a number pf factors cut the days sailing short. Thanks as always to Brian and the recorders. Brian’s results have been shared on WhatsApp and are shown below.

Sailing Report 5th DF95 competition day 15/6/2026

A dozen members sailed on Monday, a beautiful day for sailing. Thanks as always to Brian for directing the racing and Colin, Bill and Chris for scoring. A personal thanks to 13 for nudging 29 off the buoy. The results have been shared on WhatsApp and are shown below.

Fourteen members took part in the fourth Df95 competition event of the season, including those who dropped out of various races to score. The weather was good with plenty of wind. Club News from Colin

Hi Boaters I do look forward to Mondays at Manor Park. There are seldom fewer than 20 and sometimes 30 members, either sailing or steering scale models. There is a courteous, friendly, way that we help each other and enjoy the lake. Our background team continues to work hard. We now have a Nat West Community FREE Bank Account with the money from Grenville Thornhill’s yachts, scale boats and rc Rockhoppers. Colin Walton, Alan Tidman, Brian Morris and David Marsh have control of the funds. Grenville’s bequest is for long term “capital” items, such as the weather station and canvases, […]

Extra Victoria/DF65 race day 13th October

To complete the competition calendar for 2025 it has been decided to hold an extra race day for Victoria’s and DF65’s on the 13th October. It is hoped that as many boats as possible will take part, even those who have not participated in the competition this year so far. Lets make it a celebration of our smaller boats.

Update from Colin – Aldridge Rugeley Joint Regatta

Hi,I am delighted to forward the arrangements for our friendly race day between Aldridge and Rugeley clubs plus guests, organised by Brian Morris, Officer of the Day.I am on holiday again, so I am sure that Brian will appreciate any help with laying out the buoys, crewing the rescue boat, positioning Nessie, judging the finish line, welcoming guests and making sure that everyone gets a fair chance. Certificates will be presented for most outcomes. News from the north

Last Friday an MYA open DF95 event was held at Rudyard Lakes which lies between Stoke and Macclesfield. Five Manor Park members participated in what was a very successful event, Colin shared an image captured by his brother’s drone which coincidentally shows MPSC sails leading the pack. You may well recognize some sail numbers often leading in races at Manor Park.

Aldridge Rugeley Joint Regatta

Our friends from Aldridge have proposed a joint regatta to be held at Manor Park on the 7th July 2025. Brian Morris will be Officer of the Day for the Aldridge versus Rugeley Model Yacht regatta on Monday 7th July 2025 at Manor Park, First Race 13.30. The classes of yacht sailing will be Victoria, Df65, RG65 and Micro Magic. Df95 are not included on this occasion. Instead of our previous competition days, sailing home and away, on Aldridge or Rugeley waters, the friendly races will be at Manor Park in front of the clubhouse. Colin who will be absent […]
