Dredging the Trent- Message from Colin

There will be no RMBC meeting on Monday 28th next week. The gap across the River Trent into Saddlesall Lake has silted up again after the usual 5 years. This makes sailing dinghies with centreboards between the lakes impossible, in the increasingly shallow conditions. The dredging contractors have arrived today with 3 articulated lorries carrying an enormous pontoon with a big excavator to go on top. This week they will ensure that the silt is removed that has been deposited by the River Trent, preventing access to Saddlesall Lake only. On Monday all the silt spoil will be taken off […]

The Rugeley Model Boat Club invites members, friends and family along with other members of Manor Park Sailing Club to join them, celebrating 40 years of sailing at Manor Park at 11.00 on Monday 5th May 2025.  Everyone can have a go at radio sailing a Df95 from the Clubhouse patio. Alternatively visitors can try navigating a nautical scale model from the shore, in the corner of the lake away from the wind and waves, weather permitting.
